We deploy teams of experienced operators supervised by experienced geophysicists. Our philosophy is to acquire the highest quality data using the best available instruments, getting the job done right on time every time with zero injuries.

Our survey services include preliminary data processing each evening in the field for QA/QC and to facilitate planning the next days work and detailing anomalies.

To facilitate this level of service, we offer a high level of operator training and support. We carry spare geophysical equipment wherever possible. We have field relief staff for long term jobs (greater than 3 weeks) and work a 6 day on one day off schedule to combat fatigue.

We cherish reliability and our company Landcruisers - they are equipped for working on mine sites (BHP Billiton-BMA standards) with high visibility lights, flags and stripes, 2 way radios (UHF and VHF), mobile phones, satellite phones, EPIRB, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and wheel chocks. This is to facilitate a safer working environment.

All our operators wear high visibility clothing and PPE on mine sites and  carry low-magnetic signature mobile phones, compasses and GPS for safe work practices. Our new iPhones magnetometers transmit operator location and data every few seconds when a Next-G tower is available (80% of field work).

In 2010 Ultramag Geophysics crews walked over 4,000 line km of high resolution ground magnetics making us the largest supplier of such surveys in Australia. We undertook the processing and interpretation of all these surveys. During this period we are proud to report zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) despite working in some very difficult terrain.

Magnetics

Ultramag specialises in ground magnetic instrumentations, data acquisition, processing and interpretation.

We offer both on-site and off-site interpretation services customised to your requirements. We aim to incorporate geological information from the start of a project and treat interpretation as an evolving process.

With Australia’s largest magnetometer fleet, we offer quick turn-around service and work with the best commercially available tools in addition to crafting our own. Ultramag has a robust research and development program that enables us to meet our client’s specific survey needs.

Gravity

Ultramag offers Gravity Services using the CG5, CG3 and LaCoste gravity meters with resolution up to 0.005mGal for the CG5. We use walking, quad bike, 4WD and helicopter means to survey an area and provide color images of the graviity field.

Gravity data processing is undertaken in the field daily and backed-up by email. Intrepid and Carlson software is used with our in-house software to fastrack data processsing. We can provide output in any data format and projection.

Ultramag produces Bouguer anomalies. These can be terrain corrected in Intrepid using local grid and SRTM elevations.

Gravity data interpretation is carried out by experienced geophysicists and modelled using Potent and ERMapper.

Radiometrics

We offer a Pico Envirotec 256 channel gamma ray spectrometer with large 4 litre crystal for high sensitivy. This has integrated GPS and hand held data logger.

This can be used for uranium exploration, mineral and coal exploration work. The unit is suited to quad bike, vehicle and airbore deployment. It can also be hand carried by 2 operators.

We can provide calibrtated dose exposure for site contamination work.
